Medical Assistant
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a busy internal medicine practice with a solo physician. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small office environment and is comfortable managing both clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling, including new visits, follow-ups, annual exams, and same-day appointments
- Manage incoming and outgoing faxes, including reviewing, organizing, and routing documents appropriately
- Send and track laboratory, imaging, and specialty referral orders
- Communicate with patients by phone regarding lab results and physician instructions
- Perform occasional patient triage via phone, gathering clinical information and relaying to the physician as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure efficient daily office workflow and assist with general front- and back-office duties
- Support the physician in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred
- E Clinical experience is required
- At least 2 years experience in primary care or internal medicine required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette
- Ability to work independently in a small practice setting
